Dear Fellow Postdoc,

Last week, we delivered an open letter signed by 111 Postdocs to President Cauce and other members of the Administration, urging them to join with us and not delay our vote to form a union.

However, the University is continuing to deny us our right to vote, and in doing so has made it clear they do not respect us and they do not have our best interests at heart.

While the UW Admin finds ways to stall, we are not able to address the issues that affect the lives of the 1100 Postdocs at UW. Every day that the UW Admin delays, Postdocs lose out. In theory, the UW could drag out this process for at least another six months.

Collectively, we have a great deal of power at the UW: We do the advanced work that fulfills the university’s research mission, one of its main reasons for existence. We can join together to demand a vote!

Come and join postdocs and supporters at Johnson Hall at 1:30 PM on Wednesday (3/14) as we deliver this message to the University and demand no further spurious delays. Please rsvp if you can attend!

And…bargaining surveys continue to roll in! Fill out yours today if you haven’t done so.

In Solidarity,
Your friends and colleagues on the UW Postdocs United / UAW Organizing Committee
